My work Harvest featured in the recent Ipswich Art Awards exhibition taking 2nd place in the photography section and was acquired by Milanovic Neale Consulting Engineers. This work is from my recent "Plant Room" series and references the endangered Planchonella eerwah species.
The leaf-like structure contained within the capsule stands as a marker of the complex dichotomy between humans and nature, consumption and power.
In reality plants are living life support systems for our planet, without them humans and life could not exist. Harvest explores one element of this support - nutrient cycling as a result of photosynthesis.
