Thankyou Swich Contemporary Art Space!!

I just wanted to thank both Gilbert Burgh and LeAnne Vincent from the Swich Contemporary Arts Space for allowing me to be involved in the recent "Changing Perceptions" exhibition in the Ipswich Community Art Gallery.

It was a fantastic experience for me allowing me to grow and develop as an artist. The collaborative experience was also one which was great --working with a group of artists allowed a lovely synergy between the works together with artistic growth amongst the artists themselves.

Thank you also everyone who was able to attend, and for the lovely comments on all of the works....I can't wait for the next installment.

Changing Perceptions Exhibition

Artist Statement - Domus habitus

Using everyday domestic objects found in and around Ipswich, I have created an installation which reflects my interest in ecology, domesticity and industrialisation.

In this work I explore the 19th century fascination with capturing, collecting and displaying the natural world in a quasi-ecological display. The resulting "domestic ecosystem" draws parallels between the domestic and natural environments, inviting the viewer to explore the everyday on an alternate level: seeking to change perceptions regarding how we view and interact with the world around us.....
